Giesel to lead community outreach for Aspire

Mary Giesel has joined Aspire Indiana Health as Community Partnership Coordinator, spearheading the nonprofit healthcare provider’s coordination efforts with civic organizations, government agencies and other providers in Marion County.

A nurse who has held previous roles as a clinical specialist and clinical program manager, Giesel will work to strengthen relationships with current partners and identify new ones in order to improve the overall health of the Marion County community. This will include but not be limited to expanding referral networks, collaboration with other nonprofits, improving ties to state and local governmental agencies, working with local chambers of commerce and assisting school districts with meeting new state requirements for mental health counseling.

“We at Aspire want to be a magnet for the communities we serve, a place where folks are drawn to when they need any kind of help or support,” Giesel said. “I am inspired by all the good works happening in Marion County and know there is more to be done. I look forward to meeting new partners and helping Aspire being another set of ‘hands’ to help do this work.”

Aspire is a state-chartered Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in Marion, Hamilton, Boone and Madison counties, as well as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The nonprofit health system includes primary medical care, behavioral health care, addiction services, long-term recovery residences including Progress House on the Indianapolis Eastside, and a host of community support programs addressing social determinants of health including employment and housing.
