Employee Spotlight: Yvette Johnson

Alyssa Seifert

Meet Yvette Johnson, a Care Coordinator/Life Skills Instructor who has been with Aspire Indiana Health for four years, working with clients at the Indianapolis health center. As a CC/LSI, Yvette works closely with clients through developing goals, monitoring their progress, teaching ongoing success to educate on the importance of being medication compliant, and providing trust, confidentiality and maintaining quality care.

Yvette has a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies and Christian counseling and a Masters in “Discipline of Divinity” with certificates in grief share counseling. With this educational background, she became an Outreach Ordained Pastor and worked assisting clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities to empower them to live their lives independently.

When looking forward to her job, Yvette says that she likes “being able to accommodate the clients and see potential growth and happiness, moving out of isolation back into the community where the lilies tend to bloom again for them.” She particularly likes the success stories about her clients that work to be a part of the community.

Outside of work, Yvette spends her time involved with the Justice Center working with incarcerated women and people who are currently experiencing homelessness by providing food and clothing. She also works with the Zionsville Great Banquet Ministries and is currently teaching Illness Recovery Management at Aspire.

When she’s not out in the community, Yvette loves to spend time with her family, which includes her two children and three grandchildren. She also spends time with the Word of God, taking walks, working out and meditating. She also enjoys sports including basketball, tennis, rugby, football and soccer.
