Aspire Success Stories: Emerson
Many people become unable to work due to physical disabilities, and Aspire Indiana Health works with them to help transition back into the workforce. What you may not know is that some Hoosiers find themselves unable to find or keep a job because of mental health challenges.
This includes people like Emerson. He struggled with anxiety and depression for many years, and for a time he despaired that he would ever work again. People like him face a double-edged sword, because a lack of current skills or long periods of joblessness can be a liability to potential employers.
Aspire assigns an employment case worker who works with them as part of their ongoing treatment. This includes assistance with job training, interview coaching, partnering with local employers, and more. The relationship continues even after they find a job, helping solve issues that crop up at work.
As it turns out, Emerson found a job… with us! Now he finds himself filled with confidence and ambition to move to a position where he can help others.
