A Gallery of Gratitude

Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting the Compassion Gallery at Newfields, our first-ever fundraising event encompassing the whole of Aspire Indiana Health. Held in THE LUME, a breathtaking digital art exhibit featuring the work of Salvador Dalí, it was a rare opportunity to bring together more than 200 people passionate about our mission: bringing quality health services to those facing barriers to care.
Beyond the joy of connecting with so many community partners, friends and supporters of Asire, and staff, the event also prompted reflections on how we present ourselves, especially as part of a larger community. Surrounded by the creativity and beauty of art, I found myself considering the ways Aspire is seen by others — and how we can ensure this image is a true reflection of the extraordinary individuals within our organization who lead with compassion every day.
Access to timely, quality healthcare remains a significant challenge here in Indiana and across the nation. Aspire is determined to push against these barriers, striving to be a place where patients experience excellent care delivered with urgency and empathy. A key example is our 2024 launch of Same Day Access for behavioral health patients — a testament to our commitment to addressing needs when they arise.
At Aspire, compassion is our compass. It leads us in every decision and endeavor. Our mission is rooted in the desire to help those we serve achieve the best possible outcomes to life’s challenges. From this foundation, innovation follows. By looking for creative ways to meet patients where they are, we aim to transcend outdated frameworks that have perpetuated inequities in healthcare.
As we look back on 2024 and ahead to 2025, I’m excited to share that Aspire is poised for growth based on the needs of the community we serve, not growth for growth’s sake. Big developments are on the horizon across multiple clinical pathways and geographic areas. While I teased a few of these during the Compassion Gallery, you’ll need to stay tuned for full announcements.
(And yes, this is absolutely a nudge to join us at next year’s event!)
Of course, the evening was also a humbling reminder of the work still to be done. While we celebrated surrounded by the beauty of Newfields, just miles away homeless individuals were gathering at Aspire’s new winter contingency shelter in Indianapolis. This facility — opened this season — is a direct response to the urgent needs of our community.
Looking further ahead, in early 2026, Aspire will partner with Horizon House and the city of Indianapolis to open a permanent, large-scale shelter where traditional barriers to residency will be eliminated. This initiative builds on the work of Macy, our mobile clinic unit that has been serving unhoused and at-risk individuals on the streets of Indianapolis for over a year, providing critical medical services directly where they’re needed most.
The immense privilege of expanding Aspire’s reach to care for this vulnerable population fills me with profound humility. Every member of our team shares in this purpose: a deeply felt resolve to serve those who have so often been turned away.
With gratitude for your ongoing support, I wish you and your loved ones a peaceful and harmonious holiday season.
Take care and talk again soon,
Antony
